Snow progression

Here are a couple sequences to show you how much snow we got over the past 2 days! It was fun to have Paul home for Thursday! When he gets his photos processed I'll add some of the boys playing in the PILES of snow.

Our first real snow for the season!

Here are a couple pictures I took really fast so as not to let the heat out :) It is still snowing lightly and it's supposedly not supposed to stop until tomorrow morning! We'll see.

modified requirements

It appears that the posting an image thing is not as easy as one might think...so just copy the title of the piece and tell me what you like about it instead! Sorry!

Celebration!!

In honor of all my fans on Facebook (we just hit 100 :)) I am running a contest with jewelry as the prize!! All you have to do is head over to my Etsy shop and copy the title of your favorite item and post it in a comment on this blog entry and tell me what you like about the piece. You may enter up to 3 times (each entry must be a different piece). I will accept entries until midnight Sunday and post the winner on Monday morning the 26th of October. If you don't set up a profile and comment anonymously, I understand, please make sure to email, Fb message or something to let me know who you are!

Now, what is the prize? These Rainbow Lentils that I made a while back will be made into whatever the winner wants: a bracelet, a necklace, earrings or a combination of their choice! Wear it yourself or give as a gift!

Where I do my "clay thing".

These are a few pictures of my "studio". I just tidied it up so for all you neat nicks out there, it doesn't get much better than this! Before I cleaned and organized it again all the ideas, materials and projects had taken over the ENTIRE table and I was working in a space on the corner about 12x12 inches. If you have ever seen me in person you will know I am a BIG girl! 2 inches shy of 6 feet in fact with the arm span to match. That's mostly what motivated me to spend precious creating time reorganizing and I hope to keep it up :) Now that I have more space, maybe I will post a "tutorial" soon to give you an example of one of my processes!

Amazing photo!

Check out this photo that Paul took at the zoo. Of course, I think all his photos are AMAZING but you will see for yourself with this one. Hop on over to his blog and let him know what you think!

This necklace is actually one long piece that I wore doubled that day. Everything including the copper jump rings and clasp was handmade. The pattern on the brown beads was stamped and then painted to coordinate with the faux turquoise that I made a while back for another project.

A couple of Paul's shots at the Zoo.

The Zoo!

Yesterday, Paul took a day of vacation and we all went to the free zoo day at the Denver Zoo. We had a great time and here are a couple pictures before I get around to putting them on Flickr. Today I hope to do some fall cleaning/decorating since we are supposed to have snow starting soon (like the next hour kind of soon).

Klimt Cane Jewelry

Here you see a couple slightly different angles of the Klimt Canes and the jewelry that was produced from them over the weekend. Some of the canes were already made and then I just made the jewelry but you get the idea :)

A cane in the making.

Here is a little bit of one of my clay processes. The clay is put into an extrusion gun in little discs, randomly placed and then extruded through a die (in this case I used the square shape). The by cutting the extruded "snake" and stacking them together you get the final cane which can be used to overlay or be cut into tiles. Thanks to Paul for the photos. See more of his work here!

Jenni's HOME!

Thank you all for praying! Jenni is now home and resting after the procedure to put the stent in went well. I posted a picture of her with Jason and one of Ben and Jen together for those of you who may not know them! Have a great weekend!

Jenni in the hospital

Some of my Facebook friends might have seen some posts regarding my sister in-law Jennifer Tice. I thought I would do a quick post about her today so that you can be in prayer for her.

Jenni is due in January with their first baby (it's a girl! Rhys Tice). A few days ago she went in to the hospital for some severe pain and the doctors thought it was a kidney infection. Turns out it's not an infection, she has a kidney stone. She had surgery this morning to have a stent put in and as far as I know that procedure went well and now the waiting begins for her to pass the stone. She is of course on meds for the pain but she says so far Rhys is handling them well. As you think of her and my brother, Ben, please bring them before the Lord in prayer. They are both eager to be done with this ordeal and are in very bad need of some rest.
