Isaac came upstairs and said "I wish we could make muffins, Mommy". So I found myself scouting out the cupboards to see what I had to make this a possibility and ended up with this recipe. With a few alterations (we used sprinkles instead of the sugar coating on top) we were on our way to a special midmorning snack. I should mention here that this was the first time I have attempted to bake "with" the boys or have them "help" as opposed to doing it myself and letting them eat the results. It's not that I am necessarily opposed to mess, trying to explain that we only need ONE EGG so you will have to settle for pouring instead of cracking, or anything else associated with these kinds of endeavors, it's just that my children get their "I DO IT MYSELF" attitude from yours truly. So I began thinking (as I am trying to explain to Jason that I won't put the oil in the cup until he would hold it over the bowl, while urging Isaac in escalating tones to PUT THE LID BACK ON THE BAKING POWDER before you try to put it away on the turnstile) that making muffins with two boys under 4 is much like situations we face in life. How many times has God been making something great for us and we insist on following our own path and getting eggshells is a perfect muffin? Of course, we have the benefit of a God that cannot have His will frustrated by such a puny creature as ourselves added to His infinite patience (something I do NOT have). I also got a chance to try out some practical applications of this great blog post that my pastor posted on parenting (not that there is anything overtly spiritual about making muffins but I think you will get the idea;)). I am off not to try a new bead technique which I will update you on later. Have a great weekend!

These little guys are...such an essential and exciting part of my life and I love them more than my own life in many ways and today they are DRIVING ME INSANE!!! This picture is not from today but it's a good representation of hot bowl of CRAZY that is my life. Jason (seen here as short Spidey moonlighting as Indiana Jones on a construction site) wants to be like Isaac SO BAD. This is usually fine (he walks, talks and does many things pretty "ahead") but not in the potty training department. Today he decided that he wanted to go potty (he has been doing this for a while when we are home but this was a little different). He was FULLY CLOTHED and had already started filling his diaper when he decided to go potty. He wants to do EVERYTHING himself so he didn't come upstairs and ask for help....NO, he took off all his clothes and piled them on top of the still open poopy diaper in his bedroom and then "went potty". You can imagine the trail(s). How did I find this fiasco? The boys wandered upstairs after continuing to play in their room for awhile to ask for a snack and I obviously enquired as to why Jason was buck naked! Have a great weekend :)

Electra from "Wishin I knew how to blog" gets the heart pendant and "Wright Stuff" wins the earrings! This was such a great event! I am so glad I participated. Meeting so many great new blogger friends and such a diverse and talented group was so FUN!

This is the logo for this year and you can click to see what you can do to participate if you have an active blog and are looking to make some great connections! The theme is "Magic Carpet". I decided to do 2 give aways, one more heart themed and the other more magic carpet :)
The first is a polymer clay pendant that adjusts any where between 9-16 inches. These are a favorite color combo of mine and I have only ever made one of these so far so it truly is ONE HEART!
The second is a "Magic Carpet Earring" in chocolate and pale blue. Also polymer clay, this piece is impressed and then highlighted with acrylic paint and then sealed.
To enter just leave a comment on this post and leave a way for me to contact you if you win. If you are a blogger, your profile/website is fine but if not please leave me an email address (you can spell out the @ sign and dot for security and I will still accept it as an entry). Entries will be accepted until midnight on February 14th and the winner announced on the 15th! The winner will be chosen by random number generator.

This little guy keeps me laughing (and occasionally wanting to scream ;). The boys got a "Snake Eyes" suit for Christmas and although it was really given to Isaac, Jason has pretty much commandeered it. Here are a couple shots I snapped the other day. I would post more but you can see too much of my messy house :) Speaking of ugly...Julie is doing ANOTHER Gimme Girl Giveaway! And she didn't say I couldn't enter even though I won last time :) Seriously, she said it was ok! Go check it out! She thinks these beads are UGLY. Can you believe it? Go tell her how wrong she is!

Pregnancy seems to have kicked in the last couple days. I am 7 weeks along today and woke up with a headache, iffy stomach and I am really tired. This is pretty much normal for me at this stage but just because I know that doesn't mean I have to like it! I love having kids, I just don't like being pregnant (even though I am really fortunate and I have "easy pregnancies"). Anyway, I ran across this quote on a week to week development site and it made me smile. Have a great weekend!

Here are a few of my faux pieces that I have been happy about how they came out. The faux amber is different shades of translucent clay mixes with copper mica clay, then accented with alcohol based inks in the fissures and glazed. The turquoise fissures actually contain REAL DIRT and it was fun "playing in the mud" to get that effect. Finally, the carved jade is a mix of different greens, accented with acrylic paint and stamped to get the carved look and feel. You can see other examples here.

Well, I certainly did not expect such a strong response from the OWOH event and boy was I wrong! In fantastic way, of course. There are currently 100 entrants for my giveaway and I have found TONS of great new blogs to follow and acquired some fabulous followers as well. Due to the wealth of material I will be revamping my blogroll, probably listing my new friends in categories based on a general idea of their content (mommy blogger, lampwork or glass artist, vintage, polymer clay etc). Keep an eye out over the next week to dig in my little virtual gold mine :) If you haven't entered the OWOH giveaway at the top of my blog, zip up and post a comment to enter! If you aren't an active blogger make sure to leave me a way to contact you, please. Here are a few things I got done last week with so much inspiration from all my blog hopping.
